INKTOBER 2018: Chicken, Day 5

Art and Poem by Miguel Guerreiro Lourenço

I wanted to do something different with the chicken prompt, so I went for a more pagan feel; invoking some Norse mythos along with it. I really like how it came out! The poem goes hand-in-hand with the illustration for a change. Below is the transcription:

cast your runes, throw

the chicken skull and bone

among weeds and death shells

smell incense burning, smoking

hear the cackle of amused

crows, perched outside on

the mighty white oak tree,

how it spreads its wings too.

now, read your runes.

true protection, lies ahead

enlightment, it beckons you.

is this what you asked for?
